The operational reality

The relationship manager’s preparation time is the constraint on everything. An RM cannot walk into a review having read every statement, so they prepare for the meetings they remember and improvise the rest.

Portfolio review preparation

Assembling holdings, performance, allocation drift, transactions since last review, and open actions, across mutual funds, equities, bonds, insurance, PMS and AIF, often in different systems.

Client communication

Market events generating a wave of "should I be worried?" calls, all needing a consistent, compliant answer fast.

Suitability and compliance documentation

Recommendation rationale, risk-profile alignment, and the evidence trail SEBI expects from advisers and portfolio managers.

RM productivity

Which families are under-serviced, which reviews are overdue, which opportunities are visible in the data and invisible to the RM.

Transitions

When an RM leaves, the relationship knowledge shouldn't leave with them.

Cited answers across the book

An RM asks "what's this family's exposure to mid-cap?" and gets an answer with source records attached, in seconds, on a phone. Every answer traceable.

A note on AI in wealth

Wealth is the sub vertical where AI should be least visible to the end client. The gain is in preparation, documentation and recall, not in conversation. We’d advise against client facing autonomous agents in a private client relationship, and we’d say so even where the technology would work.

Common questions

Can the AI give investment advice?

No, and we wouldn't build that. It retrieves and summarises what's in your records: holdings, history, what was agreed. Advice remains the adviser's, with the suitability trail documented.

Does it work across custodians and product types?

That's the main integration effort: mutual funds via RTA feeds, equities via depository and broker data, insurance and alternatives often manual or file-based. We map what's automatable before quoting.

How do we stop an RM seeing another RM's clients?

Row-level permissions in the CRM, inherited by every agent. An agent invoked by an RM can only retrieve what that RM could open. This is tested explicitly at UAT.
