We’re one of them, so read this with that in mind. We’ve written it anyway, because the honest version of this comparison is more useful than the version where we’re the answer to every question, and because you’re going to find a listicle either way.
First: understand the tiers
Zoho’s partner programme has levels. The tier tells you about volume and certification, not about whether they’ll suit your project. A Premium Partner with no experience in your industry may serve you worse than an Advanced Partner who has done your exact process five times. Partners not meeting Zoho’s criteria are excluded from its directory, so being listed at all is a baseline signal worth checking.
The three kinds of partner, and who each suits
None of these is better. They’re answers to different questions.
The seven questions that actually separate them
Red flags
- A fixed price quoted before any process discussion
- No named engineers, only a "team"
- Support and implementation from different organisations
- Discounted licences as the lead argument
- Case studies with no numbers
- Unwillingness to say what's out of scope
Where we fit, honestly
We’re strongest on complex, regulated and integration-heavy work, financial services especially, and on engagements where AI agents will eventually sit on top of the platform. We’re not the cheapest, and for a straightforward single-team CRM rollout in a standard business, a volume implementer will likely serve you well at lower cost. We’d rather tell you that than win a project we’re over-engineered for.
